| Year of the Dragon |
| New Years Crowds |
Traditional music blared at we found a place to stand. Few people, including us, could see the performers, but the excitement of the evening filled the air. Haley had her camera and tripod and was ready to take as many pictures and videos as possible.
"Dragon Dance," I yelled as I saw the Chinese performers lift the canvas dragon above there heads. Haley quickly lifted her tripod into the air filming the performance.
Thought Requests:
1. The Landlord Raised the Rent
Our landlord raised the rent by about $100 per month. Because of Chinese New Years, it is nearly impossible to move. Because of this we are stuck with the higher rent and are looking for a new apartment to move into this May. Please ask that we would have the funds to cover the higher rent and would find a new apartment soon.
2. Chengdu Winter
Chengdu winters aren't frigid and icy, like Changchun winters, but they are damp, cold and over caste. Please remember all of us (including our team) as we deal with living in a place with very little sun, large patches of mold that grow on our wall, and very uncomfortable "damp cold" temperatures.
3. More Transitions
Todd and I were blessed to have all three girls home for Christmas this year. We miss Heidi and Hillary, but we are also excited to see them grow in maturity and faith while studying at Crown College. This is Haley's senior year in high school. As we move into 2012, Haley is preparing to head off to Crown College, and Todd and I are preparing for an empty nest. Yes, we will have three daughters in college at the same time!
4. Chinese Friends and the Clinic
Please continue to remember Crown Counseling as they move into new opportunities this year. Please continue to remember all the folks whose pictures appear in our blog. Each and every one of these people are important to us but even more so to the Father
