Yes! Todd and I made the long bumpy van ride into one of the areas hit by the May 2008 earthquake. This trip, initiated by a friend, was truly and unexpected blessing. How would we describe the trip? Let me explain it in a nutshell.
Construction: Everywhere was the tearing down of the broken and the building of the new, new roads, new buildings, new lives.Beauty Amidst Ashes: The beauty of the mountains, valleys and rivers was contrasted by the knowledge of the devastating May 12, 2008 earthquake that killed over 10% of the small village we visited.
Long Traffic Jams: Road construction, broken roads and lots of dust extended our 2 hour van ride to 4 hours.
People: We saw lots and lots of people, children, grandparents, farmers and workers. All had experienced the quake; all had their own story.
Please continue to lift up the many opportunities He has put in our path. Our desire is to follow His will!
You have had a busy two months resettling! Glad your news is either good or optimistic. Thanks for keeping the rest of us in your loop.
