As we descended through layers of clouds over Chengdu, our lives once again entered into the other side of the wardrobe. Just like "Narnia" our family sometimes has a sense that air travel quickly transports us from one reality to the other. In a moment, we feel as if we never left the other place and life picks up just where we left it.

| Bike Parking |
Riding bikes through the city feels great! In China, our family doesn't own a car or have a Chinese driver's license. Biking is our primary form of transportation. Yes, all of our bikes were still safely in the parking garage (not stolen) with quite a bit of dust and grim on them.
| Local Market |
In five short months, food prices have shot up. Pork and Beef prices are between $2.50 and $3.50 per pound. These prices might be normal for the US, but imagine making between $600 and $700 per month (our estimate of an average salary for a lower middle class Chinese family) and paying these prices. Many of our friends just don't eat meat, but still other food prices are sky rocketing (not just meat). Please remember our Chinese friends as prices increase and salaries don't.

Please Remember
* Our family:
Please be thinking of our family on both sides of the ocean. Heidi and Hillary are doing great at Crown. Todd, Haley and I have had a great return to Chengdu. Still, we are all experiencing transition and would appreciate your thoughts.
*Opportunities Old and New:
All of our past opportunities, clinic, teaching, and old friends, are still apart of our lives. As we meet new people and encounter new opportunities, we want to proceed with His wisdom.
Hurting Friends:
Three families we know are encountering very difficult situations: mental illness, a very sick newborn and a sexually abused child. These are urgent requests that need daily "thought".
