Three Trains, Two Planes, Little Sleep and Lots of Friends

Answer to Last Month's Question:  Yes, these are the same photos on different days.
As my train chugged north through the cornfields I saw it for the first time in nearly a year.  Yes, I saw a beautiful sunset!  But better yet, as my train growled to a stop in Changchun, the endless stream of Chinese friends began.
Nancy
For nearly seven solid days, I was never alone.  Your right in China being alone is always difficult because of the large population, but my time in Changchun was crammed packed with friends.

Ben
Our conversations ranged from the little joys in life to deep hurts and fears.

Topics of conversation:
what it means to be a college student,
pressure to cheat in the work world,
the death of a family member,
kids growing up and going to high school and college,
pressure to marry a non believing spouse,
depression and being hurt by friends,
and much more.

Joy and Grace
There were many, many highlights, but the one that jumps out at me right now is visiting the orphan school I used to teach at.  Because of time and other circumstances, I wasn't able to arrange a visit at the orphan school.  Still, at our good friend John's suggestion, we road over to see the new buildings from outside the gate. As we parked outside the gate, it suddenly rolled open, no questions asked.  As John drove me around campus, I began to realize many of the teens outside were my students.  They also recognized me!  We only had about 20 minutes together, but our time was truly a gift from the Father!

We first met Ben when he was 12 years old and living on the streets of Changchun.  Ben is now 22 years old and working as a security guard.  When I was back in NE China last week, I took this video of Ben sending Todd a simple greeting.  This short clip is in Chinese, but my hope is you can get a feel for Ben's personality by watching it.
